Default Container from US to Aus

Is anyone in the process of loading a container with car parts in the US? I've purchased a motor and am looking for a convenient ride rather than go through the full process. Willing to pay my way but hopefully less painful.

If nobody can help you here, as an indication most of the Brisbane importers charge $500 to $600 for a motor. That covers all freight and documentation costs. From there, it's the GST and duty (if applicable) that you'd pay even if it was coming across in your own container.

Go and speak to the boys at ROCKET IND. ..... as long as the motor is new

Hi will keep an eye on this, as I am considering a couple of seats myself to have moved and freighted.

... Would be ideal to go in a car container rather than general freight container....

Cheers

What time frame are we looking at?

I'm looking at an engine & trans package and some other miscellaneous items to ship (engine not yet built though).

I was planing on using the same guy who shipped my car, but I'm always open... alternatively we could all have him ship our stuff if time frames aligned.

best

Demis, the seller is busting to sort out freight ASAP so he can get payed. Craig's on the money...freight from California to Sydney including port charges etc is about $450 - $500 and more if the engine had to travel across state. then there's GST on top. A container would be cost effective if you can fill it.
I'm currently having issues with land freight. Seller quoted $700, to get to Cal, admittedly it's almost a whole country's travel. I might look at shipping from New York. I shipped the car from there but it was more expensive than California. Might not be too much of an issue for just a motor.

We had three hard tops shipped out of New York a year or so ago (how time flys)
It was more expensive to have the crate shipped from east to west USA than it was to ship here.
Tenrocca organised ours and had a web site that put your job out for tender, and you could then select who you wanted to go with.
Send him a pm.

I've heard good things about USAtoAUS, but I never realised they were based in Washington state. That could have saved us some money when we paid $900 to ship Dad's Arntz from Washington to California...

If you're looking for options on the east coast, I shipped a 40ft container from New York and was happy with International Auto, Motorcycle, Boat, Container Shipping: Overseas Car Shipping : Marine Transport Logistics, Inc.

I'm waiting to hear back from my inquiries, being the weekend nothing is happening. I will know more tomorrow I hope. Washington State is not really an option for this particular job. Thanks for all the input, it's great to have extra options.
