Default For Sale

As Peter Garrett and the ‘Oils once said, “The time has come … ”

OZCO8” is for sale for what is a reasonable price I believe, on Car Sales;
2009 AC COBRA Convertible Private Cars For Sale in QLD - carsales.com.au

With a new project I need the garage room, so after 4 years, she either is sold or goes to my son as an early inheritance! The other alternative is I move the Cobra to my dad’s empty garage 2kms away.

Oils also sang "We've got the best of both worlds here"
I think that's a sign that you should start the new project AND keep the Cobra...!

Good luck with the sale Merv.

Very nice. I really like What I think are the reverse lights? If they are can you tell me the part number and how you installed them?

Cheers

This is one of my favorite cobras with a well rounded and complete package.

Curious on the 'new project', so you should park it 2 k's away and enjoy those sunny days.

Either way, good luck with the sale.

Good luck with the sale, but I must suggest building a bigger garage, that's what I did!

Merv is the "new project" that early 911 you mentioned once before?

Whatever it is, you must consider it pretty special if you would consider parting with what is undoubtedly one of the Club's better Cobras to accommodate it.

I remember selling my Healey 3000 all those years ago, in 1980. The image of it being strapped into the back of the truck taking it to its new owner in Nowra haunts me still.

Many thanks guys for the great comments. This is a gut wrenching feeling. I do and I don't ... I have bought the early 911 and it is also a terrific car with lots of things to be restored/improved and made original. I have done the same with Alfas, MGA Twin Cams, Mercedes 280SLs, etc in the past and it is fun. Yes Don - a 911 1968 in great nick and needing the original Recaro sports seats and a number of other bits for a full resto and performance upgrade.

However, ...

Default Oh NO!

Merv, have you thought about turning your panel garage door to a roller door($2k) and buy a 4 post hoist ($4k) and then you can park the cobra in the rafters with the VW underneath.

Those VW's drip all over the shop so best have that one on the ground.

Dave the reversing lights are an idea from Geof (Cob '07). They are as I recall, from an XD Falcon tail light and indicator cluster. $5 at the wrecker. Cut the holes in the glass and the clear lens glued in from the inside. Normal reversing lights inside them.

Wow Merv, didn't see that coming!

Back to the classics eh?

I'm interested that you moved into the Cobra build from all the originals that you mention
Quote:
Alfas, MGA Twin Cams, Mercedes 280SLs, etc
and now back to the little Porsche.

My new project is a step to a GT40 perhaps, just gotta have something unfinished in the shed........

Good luck with selling OZCO8, your posts here are always well appreciated. hope we don't lose you completely to clubporsche.com

Yes Rob, we need the garage space at home but I do have a lock up garage at my dad's a couple of kms away for the Cobra. I really like the new Pace Cobras and my connection with things Cobra is by no means at an end.

Merv

Keep the car. Extend the garage. Upwards if necessary. Or put it in your Dad's garage or you can leave it in mine. We are just 200km South. You can come and drive it any time.

The 911 looks the goods. A favourite of mine as well.

I cannot take credit for the XF reverse lights. I also stole the idea. But they do look great!

Geof
