Default Low Profile Jack

Hi everyone. What are you using to jack up your car?

I find with mine when I put it on the ground that with only 100-125mm under the chassis rails my normal trolly jack will not fit under to lift it up.

What do you use?

Jethrow
I have a low profile trolley jack that wouldn't be more than 60mm high from big red jacks.
Aluminum Jack

Jethro, I use a 12v scissor jack to raise one side enough to get my floor jack under the crossmember. I like Gofastoldguy's idea if the car is driveable. Having said that, I might now look at getting one of those alloy/aluminum jacks suggested by Stuartt and Leroy17.

I've got an aluminium racing jack from Hare and Forbes.

J042 | Alloy - Low Profile Hydraulic Garage Jack | machineryhouse.com.au

I like it a lot. It's light weight and easy to pick up and move around. It's got a 2 stage pump so it goes up quickly till it encounters enough weight then the 2nd stage hydraulics kick in and it's easy to pump.

It's been low enough to get under my chassis OK. The issue often is with any jack like this is not how low it is at the front but how low it is at the back. Once you have slid it underneath the jack pad has to reach far enough in to get to the chassis.

Cheers

I was put on to this one by another club member because its long low snout allows it to get around the problem Mike details above. It cost me a couple of Guinness for the info.

Jacks

These are large garage jacks and could not be thrown into the back of the tow vehicle with as much ease as some of the lightweight aluminium ones, but they are so low that they all but disappear under a Cobra. All Repco stores carry them and they're on special from time to time. Ask for some discount when you go to purchase.

Curses!! No Costco in Perth! The jack looks good tho.

Best price I can see is about $240 delivered to Perth (via ebay).
