Been so full on building my G Force Kit, I’m sooooooo happy with the way things are going, in 6 months from a chassis the something that resembles a car and moves under its own power!!! Still heaps to do I would love to catch up with anyone who has or is building a G Force kit and anyone who can help as a quick over view
• G Force Chassis and body
• Jag Rear LSD and modified
• Jag Front
• AVO shockers all round
• 302 XR8 engine and gearbox
• Wiring My own!
• Heaps of other bits
Now for the million and one questions I’m after any help with the following
• Steering column
• Fuel Tank

• Exhaust System – Headers for under body exhaust
I’ll work out the photos a little later, Big Thanks in advance Mark.
PS I’m in Mount Barker South Australia.

Welcome Mark to the madness.

Best first step is to join the SA club and get to know the members as you will get just as much information talking with that group as you will off this forum.

Please do get some pictures up that is always good to see. I've found using a Photo Bucket account the best way to store and attach pictures into my posts on here, though I have a million photos sitting on a USB stick too.

As to your questions, my part done kit came with the recommended sigma steering column but if I were to do it again I'd source a more modern collapsable system not sure what though. However I went with what I bought and grafted a hyundai shroud, stalk set and lock to the sigma shaft and it has all worked well. I also found an older style billet SAAS steering wheel boss that could take being shortened to mate the wheel to column. This all gave arm room length.

You are going to discover that finding seats legal to suit the cobra and which will fit is going to be quite difficult and made tougher still by the G Force floor pan design. I narrowed MX5 seats but these sit too high for my rebuild and I am getting ADR compliant frames made. I did want the adjustibility in the seat but have forgone this with fixed seats now so I can get far lower in the cabin. PM me if you want to talk about a cheap pair of MX5 seats though.

For a fuel tank I suggest you find a fabricator and have a stainless tank made up. I'd suggest running in tank pump and filter system for space saving, noise reduction and simplicity. I run a stock BA sedan pump in a modified G Force supplied tank after trying an external arrangement myself. I managed to fit my tank below the boot floor rather than partial through it as my GF plans suggested. Maximises boot space which is at a premium anyway.

As to headers find a good exhaust/fabricator and pay for a good set of headers. I had some s/h RMC headers cut and shut to suit and saved heaps.

Have fun with the build and keep those photos coming.

Cheers

Steve
