Default Queenlanders at Bathurst

A few of the Queensland club members hit the track this weekend at Mount Panorama, Bathurst.

I'll get full details later, but " Sneaky" John White fastest around the track ....lap times ,
John White, Absolute Pace GT40 (2m.34s)
Ashley Bright, DRB Cobra,(2m.38s)
Wayne Proctor,Harrison Cobra,(2m.39s)

Fastest (biggest balls ) down Conrod.....Ash @ 250 kph!...( 155 m.p.h.)

Greg Quince was there also, but not sure which race car he took...Corvette/ MX5

And I'm told that the best pit man /mechanic in the world, Peter"Chunky"Hancock....got them all on the track and kept them there.

Congratulations on those times...and safe journeys home.

Cheers,
Warren

Without any "wings" on a Cobra...there's not much holding us down over about 220..... I'll ask Ash when I see him, but I'm pretty sure he would have been "packin' it" from about 220 onwards.
I've often said....."things change in a Cobra once you hit 200".... 250 is FLYING.LITERALLY !

Put it this way.....I recon Sneaky John White was feeling a lot more secure at almost the same speed (248 k.p.h.) in his GT40.

Wink

Quincy ran the Mx5 in Prod sports including a gearbox change Fri night--- Aaand won his class in the 1 hour Enduro
Brighty was trying out the splitter --missed a session -clutch cable
The Proc had an electrical gremlin
Sneaky was trying to keep under the capped lap time of 2:40 of which they all failed to do in the end -- exclusion--(what the hell, it was worth it)
Most of the track time was halved due to oil spills and or roo guts

Bronte was racing with the big boys in Group N

Yep had a blast, 250 with a lift over the hump.... Had a 'moment' over the hump, little gust of wind blew me sideways at 240+.....

Yes I did trial a front splitter, DRB fibreglass front spoiler & a ply under tray attached to spoiler, cross member & a few places in between. Worked well kept the nose down over the hump. It did rub on the ground over the dipper tho.... Would only bother with it if I was going over about 220....
