Default SIDE PIPE (Exit) BEZEL

Has anyone ever seen a bezel or shroud made for where the side pipes exit from the body?

I've had a squiz at finishline, snake bite etc but no luck. I've seen them on cars before but maybe they were home made (as I may decide to do) but thought I'd ask 1st.

Any heads up is appreciated.

Thanks Spookypt

Spook, I've noticed them on a few Dax cars. Did a quick google search and found a couple right away - maybe get in contact with the manufacturer (DB Replicas is one).

And finally this one - the image is huge (1.5Mb) so I'll post the link and you can click through. It's a beautiful car.

No worries. If you speak to Dave say hi and tell him Paul is about to start fitting his hardtop after about 2 years gathering dust!

Hey Matt
I'm visiting Dax next month, if they've got what your looking for (and it doesn't weigh 50 kilos) I'm happy to bring em back for ya.
Also off to Donington Kitcar Show so I may not have a whole lot of room in the luggage

Legendary. I have sent them an email and am awaiting a response.

If I have no luck I'll let you know. That'd be wicked.

Are you joining us for the Nats this year Greg?

I would just measure them up and get them laser cut in 2b stainless steel and rolled, wouldn't cost much I imagine about $ 100 for 2

The heat from the pipes would be "acceptable" on the fibreglass and paintwork...that's been proven...so I'm assuming that the heat in the stainless surround is ok as well. Stainless is a very good heat retainer.....just curious !

I don't know why you would want them unless you boogered up the hole in the body. If you trace the opening I can make them in anything that conducts electricity for you.

Not the case, i work in an engineering workshop as an estimator/project manager, we have a profile cutter, but not a laser cutter, we use a local company for this and if someone else was going to charge more than $100 for this, lets just say they would be ripping you off. materials would be about $20-$30 cut and say an hour labour max to roll the profile.

Well I got responses from both db replicas and Dax within a few hours of emailing them. Great service.

As it turns out £19.95 for the pair in stainless. As I thought....can't buy the material for that!

Thanks to Byroncobra delivery is free (or a couple of beers + at the nats I'd suggest)

However they have offered to have them sent priority express/fedex or similar for 15pounds.

Good result. Wouldn't it be nice if Fedex was similarly priced on small items from the States!
