Looks good matey, enjoy the car the way it should be.

Doc, there are two things that I can say about your comment.
That is your wife is a keeper, as is the cobra. Enjoy both mate. Car looks great. Now... go change your nick as "Darkside" is reserved for those of us who recognize the value of using engines from the darkside. Reserved strictly for GM engine owners. :) ;) |

Nice coupe. I really like the driving lights tucked inside the intake on the Cobra. Always liked that look, might do it to my cobra one day. Welcome to the madness. Cheers Gregg

anyway getting back to the rebuild of the cobra, when we bought her she had been underwater for 5 days during the brisvegas floods in 2011.previous owner bought her with a 351 cleveland stuffed into her bowels and left the water in it till i bought her 18mnths later.....yeah the donk was cactus shame too as it had been a good rebuild with some good gear by the looks
http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/y...shelby/041.jpg http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/y...shelby/034.jpg we drained almost 6 of thes out....doc |
there was no way we were going to put the clevo back into her as u can see there was no room to get at back 2 plugs either side,u couldn't even get plug leads off rear plugs,so we decided to put it back to the way it was originally built
http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/y...elby/025-1.jpg we found an au2 efi windsor and went about taking off unwanted efi bits http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/y...pse3ae076c.jpg so when we got all that off we sourced some goodies to put it on gas http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/y...elby/038-1.jpg |
That polished intake looks great doc. Are we talking liquid petroleum gas or laughing gas?
1994 build year, hopefully back on the road for her 20th birthday. :D |
we had a fun time cutting the au's serpentine pully system down to ma useable size in the ac,we spoke to peter from drb but little knowledge of any au2 windsor motors in drb :JEKYLHYDE...so we went about the job

http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/y...shelby/040.jpg http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/y...shelby/047.jpg http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/y...shelby/046.jpg http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/y...shelby/048.jpg http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/y...shelby/049.jpg |
all looked worse than wot it really was,no structual damage and paint was fine ,we sourced some vdo guages
http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/y...shelby/010.jpg a steering wheel that suited the ac was abit harder to find, the one previous owner had on it looked like it belonged on a ricer http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/y...shelby/020.jpg with a lot of work the surface rust was removed and treated ,cant find pics but rust looks like errr.......rust:D we went to dayleys apholstery and got similar type interior carpet and vinyl, and except for the seats which i am planning on changing when i can find lower type ,and centre console area which we were having thoughts of going manual (staying auto now .....i think )but will get to that bit soon...doc http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps632dacc7.jpg |
this is just about at the stage of finished ...so we thought ...the gm wiring kept giving us problems so ....got removed :D.....then the 9' clutches were not realeasing then the bearings went in diff ,the headers were built to tight so leads touching had melting probs ,the brakes were not errr braking ,then wouldnt stop braking :LOL:the dizzies were all too tall and still i have a touching bonnet issue but it closes etc etc etc lets just say i nearly rang the insurance company and told them it accidently burnt to the ground .....lots of little problems came home on tilt tray once or twice...all good now ...for now although i am getting a complaint from bearings in front pullies...the joys...and that was basically the rebuild on this ac which we registered on my birthday in april......cheers doc

I'll have a guess.
Na is the chemical symbol for Sodium. Sodium is used for LPG storage (I think). Therefore to cut to the chase. Gas Cob .... most likely way off..... just taking a break from actually working. |
Naturally Aspirated Cob?
|
NAC .... Not a Chev
08 .... really doesn't matter ... the letters above tells all that is important. ;) Still a nice car tho.:) |
