Ended up with the updated program from Fast, once we had that the actual tune and dyno time was only about 3 hours.
Man I was scared about how lean we had to take it, we kept power runs to a minimum just in case.

Made good power even though it's strangled and I asked to back the rev limit right down.

Sounds pretty quiet down low, but you can't hide cubic inches when it's under load!
Who did the tuning?

Chris Hollingsworth HolleyProsport, been great to work with considering the headaches and everything

dhs.buckley 08-13-2014 06:07 PM

love it!!, makes me want to ditch the old 302

Chris L 08-13-2014 07:21 PM

All things being as they should Damage, what power and revs are you comfortable with or you have been told to expect? . With no reliability issues naturally.
Nice job.

Chris L, I'll work that out when I drive it some more, my last cobra would run to 7500 rpm as this one will is capable of.

As far as horse power is concerned I will work out a conservative tune that will ensure longevity which will probably make closer to 500 hp at the wheels at the end of the day the best horse power monitor is the right foot.

Looks like it did the lane change without breaking a sweat. That cammer continues to sound amazing. I just saw this interesting article about the 427SOHC. Their 2 metre long timing chains are crazy and more recently I've seen the timing belts replacement option, but I hadn't ever seen this gear drive setup. The mechanical sound would be pretty special!

A mate of mine Greg owns one of those very rare motors, brought it back from the states many years ago.

Dave, I saw some photos on Facebook of your car at Lakeside today. Looks stunning!

The photographer says that it's a chrome plated car..!!!

Great job to get it on the road with such impressive specifications.

Yeah, I saw it out there! Looks great! Did you work out what let go in the engine? There was a lot of oil sprayed under the bonnet!
