Default Anyone run a Jerico GB in Oz?

Just chasing some info as to who if anyone has used for sales and service in oz for Jerico road race boxes. I know its a long shot as being a dog box I'm not sure anyone uses one in Oz but its worth a try.

I know HPRacing in Wagga Wagga are agents and my original discussions back in Oct were quite promising but since then my emails and calls haven't been returned since.

I'm looking to do a 4 speed to 5 speed conversion which is a +/- $10K deal and I can't get a response for love nor money!

I know its a long shot but any help would be great!

Just spoke to my brother in law, he says the Jerico boxes are getting a bit old now, but the pro stock guys used them for years.
He said JB automotive (John Barbagello?) up your way will be able to help you or will know who can.

Thanks Gav...that's a good heads up. I know in drag racing circles their old news but in road racing in the states they're a controlled box and used a lot in NASCAR etc afaik.

The 4 speeds are super common as they're used by many everywhere but the 5 speeds are a different story.

I'll certainly make some enquiry on the JB front. Owe u one. thanks.

Hey Gav, if JBA are the mob in AYR then that's a long way away from us (1200k's). WAGGA WAGGA's closer by 150k's LOL.

They look pretty drag race specific but I've left them a ph message to see what they have to say.

They might think I'm strange being a roundy roundy?

Pro stock guys can give you truckloads of data about air gap settings for their clutchless shifting trans, but they might look at you funny when you say that you need to downshift

JB will be able to get another 400hp and 2000rpm out of that old Windsor motor if you let him. A mid season cylinder head upgrade with associated changes only costs around $60K, but it's only money...

As I said, they might know of someone closer.
And will definitely help you go faster...

I think george from python uses them in his race cars,
he has them listed in his spare parts for python.

Thanks for the head up on that dhs. $6600 is very exy.

Looks like I have begun to get it sorted with communication opening up with HPR. They're super knowledgeable and super friendly just too busy to service it all I guess.

Anyway, I'm under way with some options so we'll see where they lead.

yes, looking at the shifter entry position I'd say so. Jerico's have external shift linkages down their left flank so they exit on the far left on the tunnel. OK for Left hookers but require the bent shift arm for RHD cars.

George knows how to peddle and makes it look easy!

Wondering if anyone knows where is the best source to find a reasonably priced RD6 Hollinger??? Is that what Geoff T is running?

Just doing some research.....

I saw some of that kind of gear at Riverside Racing when I visited once with Chris L.

Give Gary a call.

Cheers

Spoke to Gary @ Riverside. Super nice fella. Seems the Holinger 6 speeds from the supercars have dried up. Demand was much greater than supply unfortunately. This in turn has pushed the price up and it has got to the point apparently where your probably better off buying a new one. Gary reckons 2nd hand 6 speed sequentials were around $16000 and a new one is $20000 plus GST last time he priced one.

It was worth the enquiry but waaaay outa my league.

I think it may have been Lain Pretty's cobra that had a hollinger box and the car was sold a couple of years ago minus the motor and gear box. Might be worth a call as from memory the guy that bought the car took delivery of it complete and drove it a little and then had to return the motor and box. It might be sitting in storage somewhere.
