on the way again
today went & applied for the proxy vin at the cop shop
what fun for an hour as they tried to find the right paper work
then unload it from the tilt tray [tow truck]drive it around to the rear of the station to read all engine numbers & chassis no then check the brakes work
then all lights ,indicators seat belts retract so on & so on
then they inform me that they only needed to check only the engine & chassis numbers
so reloaded after every cop in the station climbed in & out now just the wait for the vin
one more step down 6 more hoops to jump thru
rob
the towie loved the circus as they parade in & out & didn't sting me to hard for the time all up $ 120.00 plus smoko not bad for 1.5hrs wait

Congrats. Sounds like the one part of the process up in QLD that is actually harder than elsewhere in Australia. No police inspection required for a VIN down here in Vic. In fact the police have nothing to do with it down here, it's all handled by Vic Roads. Which is not necessarily a bonus!

Police need to be involved with everything at Redcliffe.
That's great news mate. Glad to hear things are progressing well.

I had to do mine in steel and permenantly fix to metal part of chassis.
I had a plate laser etched and then used metal glue (the Sikaflex product they use to glue firewalls in cars now).
