Default Short stroke, big revs, big HP

Check out this LS motor on the dyno

It's a short stroke big bore combination that's only 5.0L

4.155" bore with a 2.8" stroke

Its turning to 8000RPM

It makes 580HP naturally aspirated and 817HP with a shot of Nitrous.

Cheers

You'll like the sound of this then. Apparently he had the limiter set at 9600rpm, and hit it a few times! Whether you think burnouts like this are impressive or pointless, you can't deny the quality of the drivetrain required to cope with this punishment.

Is that the same one that blew a tyre on the dyno and ripped the boot open?

It was built for N2O as it made 817HP on the bottle. A cam and compression ratio to suit N2O probably wouldn't work as well N/A as a V8 Supercar motor optimized to run that way.

Cheers

I have a 352 dry sumped set up here that use to race. Developed 750BHP at 7500 on a hilborn fuel injection set up.

Made from a 400cuin block that has been de-stroked. Revved very quickly and has lots of good stuff inside it.

What are you doing with the 352 now? Was it used in the 360 sprint car series?

I was going to put it in a cobra when I lived in NZ, a Graham Berry one, but moved to Aussie instead.

Engine now sitting in my shed next to a plain 350 awaiting a project.

I used the motor in Jet Sprints that I participated in in the early 90's before the move.
