The Queensland DRB on your other thread has a soft-top.
Problem solved -- one of the very best Cobras on the market today, AND you don't have to worry about finding an upholsterer!

lol yeah I know that
the owner and myself just cant come to a agreement at this stage but I haven't given up hope . the car will cost me closer to 75g by the time I fly to qld /transport the car back pay stamp duty and rego here in south aust so it all adds up . I know that's not the owners problem but what I have to spend is a few grand short of that without having to take out a loan . I sort of promised the mrs that I could put us into a cobra without doing that . so at this stage keeping all options open .
as someone told me there are more cobras for sale than there are people looking to buy them ive waited 15 yrs since my last cobra a little while longer wont kill me . :-)

Deano - try calling the car manufacturers of the cars you're looking at ie DRB, G-Force, RMC etc. that way if you buy the car from their home state you could have it done after purchase OR see who they suggest in your state maybe?

Gloves, beanie, jacket and a chamois....... cheaper than a soft-top.

The price of admission is soon forgotton with the joy of ownership.
Sometime you need to look beyond the upfront price, its not what its costs you now...... its what it could cost you in the future.
First expense is your only expense.
I am sure there are many sayings.... as I am sure there are many owners who purchased to a budget, and have since gone well beyond that with needed work.

I assume we all use the same windscreen; if so, then one of the roadster tops in the following page from FFR might work for you. I had the $1600 US one on my last build; as good as any 50s or 60's Brit sports car top.
You could also check with Rod Tops http://www.rodtops.com/pdf/RodTops-F...ers-Manual.pdf re dimensions of your roadster vs. FFR's. Rod Tops make the FFR Premium tops, and they are NICE!
Cheers, Dale
