LeMans Classic
Hi all,
Just a note to gloat that a couple of us are off to the Classic again this year in July
If you are unaware of what the event is have a squiz at these clips
[ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=BUYrAhjSbS4[/ame]
[ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbzi3-B36A8[/ame]
We are going 5 star this time, staying B&B at a local Chateau and driving in each day rather than staying on site like we did in 2012.
It a fantastic event with loads of stuff to see with some amazing racing too.
For the Cobra fans it is a must do!

Gav. Be sure to take plenty of photos of the 250 GTOs as they come up to lap the Roadsters!

There where about 25 of them there last time, but I'm sorry to have to tell you they where lame in comparison to David Hart in a Cobra sitting just off the rear of a GT 40 at full speed down the Mulsanne Straight.
He was awesome to watch, check this out.
David Hart LMC night lap.mov - YouTube
We where watching from just before the first chicane, awesome stuff.
Let me know if you need any specific shots of anything and I will see what I can do.

What a wonderful sound! I like how the external lights catch the AC Cars plate on the dash a number of times. Gee - wouldn't the historics guys like to be able to fit a 5 speed for the long circuits...

They run out of legs don't they
Probably a good thing though, the tyres aren't real wide, no aero..

Compare that footage to a lap by Mike Hawthorn in a D-type

Have a great time over there Gav.
There's nothing quite like the sound, the colour, the romance and the history that big time historic racing provides in my view.

Got home Friday from a very wet LeMans classic.
Had a fantastic time though.
We joined a UK group of cobra guys staying away from the track at a local Chateau.
We had a car this time and it was great to get a look at the surrounding country side, since the track is so big we got to view the race from a couple of places not accessible to us last time.
The Arnage corner at night is amazing to watch, cars belching flames and brakes glowing in the dark are awesome.
Who's coming in 2016?
