Default Importing?

Was looking at a post from yesterday/today about importing stuff from the US. Our forum (ffcars.com) has an excellent long-time, respected vendor that supplies engines, trannies, rear-ends, brakes and tons of other parts that that might fit the bill for exporting to you. I don't know the rules on this forum about referring to non-supporting vendors, so I won't mention the company name until I find out its OK to do so. It might turn into a one-stop shopping trip for you, if he could handle the exporting (not sure what that involves. I don't know about your import rules, but it could work out to everyone's benefit, I e-mailed him and he thought the idea novel and is interested; he could become a paying advertizer on your site, I suppose.

Let me know.

Cheers, Dale.

I've turned it over to the folks I had in mind. I believe he's already a supporting vendor on Club Cobra (Fortes Parts Connection). He's interested and may use the same import/export route that Factory Five uses to get their kits to oz; I have no idea how all of that works, or how complicated it is and I'm a bit out of my league here and just wanted to get something started to try and make life a little easier for you guys/gals.

Thanks for your considerations and efforts Dale.
We don't have a third world country here, we have a free trade agreement with the US and we have a responsible and reasonably effective government.
However having said that I still find it hard to buy from some suppliers as they will not ship outside of the USA.
Efforts like yours are well appreciated here in OZ as we don't have the range of stuff available that we would like to access.

Gee, wasn't my intent at all to infer anything negative, or insulting; I've spent a bit of time traveling all around your beautiful and diverse country (loved Adelaide, by the way) and I know its not a backwater. And at least you can say you have a "fairly effective" government.

Cheers
