Looks like it will be a popular addition to their lineup.

I'm sure it will become their best seller. Many over here will be selling their existing roadsters to build one. Lots of excitement over it. One plus...its a direct fit for the MK4 chassis.

Not even close to fitting without a lot of work.

I stand corrected, then; I read that the body was a glove fit (as close as can be, anyway). Sorry for the misinfo .

I had heard the chassis was the same, but the difference was in the sheetmetal, which I guess would largely impact at the rear of the body.

With more info coming out i'm now hearing that the body swap may be a matter of replacing the body with the change of a few of the aluminum panels and minimal work. I hope this is true.

I asked Dave Smith that very question during the Open House and he verified it was aluminum replacement only. The FIA uses the MKIV chassis. Karen Salvaggio's new FIA was in the sheet metal area and I looked at the chassis number. It was a MKIV chassis.
Dave also stated that the MKI - MKIII could be used, but that there would be more work. (The trunk, obviously, not sure what else)
I also verified that FFR will be selling a retrofit kit, if anyone wants to go that route.
I took a ton of pics and will post them as soon as I resize them and upload them, probably later today or tomorrow.
HTH,
EDIT: PS My 100th post!

They didn't. It's the same as the MKIV.
That should make you feel better Bill. I know your project will be stunning in that area.
