Bleary eyes this morning Peter.

I lasted until about 2.30. The D-type practice was superb and I was happy when the fire on the Steve Soper GT40 extinguished itself. Beautiful weather, beautiful cars.

I was talking to someone the other day about how spectating at motor racing makes you feel -- excited, nervous, apprehensive, pumped. Watching the Revival, with its cars, its spectators, its commentary, I feel wistful for a time long gone, but overall, I feel happy. Happy that someone like Lord March has the passion to organise such a spectacle, and happy that there are sufficient people in the world prepared to maintain and drive these wonderful cars that still look superb after all these years (the D-types are sixty years old, the GT40s fifty), go like stink, and are being driven with the skill and verve they deserve. All this on an historically significant race circuit and in a setting that on a sunny autumn day in the south of England, is as pretty a scene as you could wish for.

Two more days --or late nights-- to go!!

I had to laugh when Kevin Schwantz tried to 'back in' a Norton Manx to chicane like it was his old 500cc GP bike. Looks like he and the bike are okay - more embarrassed than anything. I guess we're not the only ones with our mind set in the old days.

That's a 'bucket list' job for me for sure, the Revival and the Festival of Speed. An experience you cant get anywhere else and the closest thing to a time machine I could imagine. The equipment all in the one place, driven hard,...........dribbling just thinking about it.
Very envious......enjoy !
Cheers
