ve 6.0

mmm got offered a ve Calais 6.0 litre with a 6 speed auto trans with fairly low ks 75.000 that's a repairable write off .for a reasonable price though I might buy it thinking the motor and trans might come in handy and part the rest out . any suggestions as to what I could fit the engine and trans into .:-).

cheers dean

In the back of a Porsche 911. :) Ooops, that does not use the auto though.

If you find a home for the auto, you could fit an aftermarket controller and paddle shift to make things a little more fun.

Dean, do you know if it is a L98 or L77 6.0LT engine?

I do but I run a restricted engine class I don't think I could make the 6 lt look like a 253 lol

What a great ad..."No dreamers...."
I've always dreamt of owning a 78 Crown.

Here we go again ..... another thread that's just a total waste of space.

Who's the original poster?

Wow, there's a surprise!!

He's on my ignore list but his post popped up in BJ's reply. Is there any way to stop this happening?

Yeah, L98 is the pick of them in my books, no DOD to worry about.

It will be a 6 speed auto though, a 6L80E box.

Nice find.

yeah it was just a matter of talking with a bloke who knew a bloke who bought it from the auctions he didn't want any of the running gear he bought it for a few of the trim pieces inside and outside to update his boring commy into a mock Calais .
I bought the rest for the diff /trans /and engine . there is still a lot of trim bits to sell it still has the leather front and rear seats .

cheers deano

Hey Deano,

Check out my Gallery. I'm running a cammed up 6 litre LS2 through a 6L80E trans. Works great and you have the best of both world's. You choose the mode. Either a 6 speed Tiptronic manual or the 6 speed auto. The added bonus is all that vacant space in the driver's foot well for your left foot.
