We sure do. I'm feeling confident that we'll make it too

We expect an update on your progress after the upcoming long weekend.

Hopefully they will have the KU36 control tyre class. I reckon that's the one for me.

Cheers

Yep,
I have all the bits I need (I hope) ready to go.
I am in the middle of getting a house ready for sale so that has been the main hold up.
The intention is to get some miles on it before it has the bejesus flogged out of it on the track.

I bought one of these and will be fitting an accusump as well so hopefully it will survive.
Baffled Racing Oil Pan for LS3, L99 Camaro / G8 / Commodore EGM-405

Will there be a controlled tyre class Stiff?

Hi Gav,

Will there be a problem with ground clearance given that the pan is nearly 7" deep?
If it's only for the track 1" clearance may be enough :-)

I am none too concerned.
It will be worth every one of the 25mm in extra depth...
Low oil pressure is a bigger concern than clearance.

That graph on that link is impressive isn't it ?.....

Being a "Platinum member" of the " "Banged engine club".....I found out EVENTUALLY just how much those dips in oil pressure cost you.

Love that cold feeling in your guts, when you think the sump you're using is SO clever with all of the baffles it's supposed to have working for you, and then you're watching the in-car video, and on the very busy parts of the track with a lot going on, you see the oil pressure gauge dropping down to bugger all..and you had no time to look down and see it at the time......but you know that it will be a problem down the track sometime.

That sump and and accusump combination, would be the best insurance you could have...

ALMOST as good as a Dry Sump system !! lol

Cheers,
Warren.

They make a nice baffle kit for the C6 pan too. http://www.improvedracing.com/baffle...kit-p-493.html

I reckon I'll retrofit one later. Fortunately I'll be able to easily remove the sump with the motor in place.

Cheers

I have a baffled LS1 sump for sale that I can guarantee won't stop oil surge when you are pushing the envelope...

Remember to slightly overfill your oil before heading out to the track too Ben.

Best I get myself organised, after missing last year its time the little car and I get re-familiarised with Shelbyfest again. This time the new heart has to be in, will be tight, but possible. I hear the manifold is being machined at present so progress is slow but it should be a very special result.

Looking forward to sharing a garage with the great man "Gav" once again and his very thoughtful comments.

Cheers

Default Revised SHELBYFEST DATES

Hello All,

The Shelbyfest Committee has to change the date of the 2015 event.

It will now be on the weekend of the 10/11/12th APRIL 2015.

There are 35 rooms reserved at the Gateway Wangaratta so when you

book mention the Cobra Car Club and you will receive the corporate rate.

This will give you an extra couple of weeks to prep your car
