That Brough Superior brings back a sorry tale in my family. My father in his teenage years, sold his older brothers bike for a few bob ( the older brother was away at the time). He was never forgiven as it was a "Brough" and apparently a similar unit to the one in a movie Laurence Of Arabia. Spelling apologies.
There was always a lot of 'shaking heads' when that story resurfaced at family functions!
Cheers

Yep, there's no such thing as a cheap Brough Superior..! I hadn't seen any in the flesh until Dad and I visited the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham. I knew they were desirable, but it just fell in love with the styling. A 1939 model will never bring the dollars of the earlier BS's, but it's still bloody beautiful.

That one and the Golden Dream were the pick of the crop.

Seems awfully cheap for an original Brough combination - the chair is the "fuel in frame" one made by/for Brough. Do you think Shannon's estimate is realistic?

Surprisingly, yep the 11-50 models aren't anywhere near the stratospheric prices of the SS80 and SS100s. Considering George Brough's 1939 SS100 sold this year for £253,500, this seems like an absolute bargain!
Here's a previous 11-50 sale
https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/13243/lot/301/
The condition of the one here in Australia and the addition of the sidecar seems to pu
t the estimate in the correct ballpark. I'd still love to see it go for over $100K.
