Yep all the under mesh has top hats inserted so once the truck rolls forwarded the hats get inserted and mesh pulled so no issues there.

I love the sound of pouring concrete in the morning.

Yeah as long as your not doing it, its a tough hard job and nothing will keep you fitter, concreters dont need gyms, ive poured a million cubes of crete in my lifetime and dont miss it, but nowadays with bigger and better pumps, full width vibrating screeds and remote control choppers its a lot easier.

spookypt 12-16-2014 08:19 PM

....and 5 hrs later we have the entrance facia and roof now on.

We have an old saying..."You don't work concrete, concrete works you!";)

Loving this thread Spooky. Thanks for posting :)

Just have beers somewhere for the concrete finishers, who will work into the night but tend to stray in you don't feed them;)

spookypt 12-16-2014 10:19 PM

No worries Mike. Hopefully we'll get the last and final run done in one huge effort tomorrow.

As it turns out, a week from tomorrow is CHRISTMAS, so I may just be rolling on my new driveway on Christmas Day!! (And wisely staying off the grommies skateboards.)

I can just see a small ramp being placed at the bottom of that hill leading up to the shed. It'll probably be followed by a blood stained streak of concrete about 10 foot from the end of the ramp.

Looking good Matty, I will be around in the new year.

Towmaster 12-17-2014 04:18 AM

Oh by the way, do you have room to 'hide' a V8 Supercar and a Cobra for a little while..... this divorce could get nasty.....

spookypt 12-17-2014 12:13 PM

Made it just before the rain came last night.

I still have obviously lots of tidying up to do and about 10 cubes of top dressing with grass seed to go around the place but its certainly taking shape now.

spookypt 12-18-2014 04:34 PM

And....

Sheds now fully roofed. Stil have gutters, capping and the personal door access to be cut in. I'm helping the guys hang the roller doors on Monday.

Oh, and you can see from the driveway pics how we have banked the edges of the driveway to help with water channelling. the light rain was a perfect trial last night and its drains PERFECTLY!

Big thumbs up to the Creters!!

Shed Envy

Mat,

that shed is massive!

I hear David Bowden is looking to house most of his collection in your shed now...

regards

spookypt 12-18-2014 04:49 PM

Mick, the same guys that built mine built the Bowdens shed at Buderim. They are also building Craig Junipers shed as well (mate of Dan B) so that was what essentially made me choose them.

As I'd mentioned earlier I actually had it 23sqm bigger but I simply couldn't fit it where I wanted it to go! LOL.

boxhead 12-18-2014 07:33 PM

Good looking shed there Spook, well done and the surrounding bush looks great too (I miss the green)

Donunder 12-18-2014 09:54 PM

Are you putting in a sprinkler system Matt; maybe even a pump attached to the rainwater tanks?

Just in case ...?

tomcat racing 12-18-2014 10:49 PM

Thats exactly the same size shed as mine, but mine is a different layout, 157.5 sq mtrs, and i cut mine back by 23sq mtrs as well, and that rain will help with the curing if it keeps up, nice spot mate.

spookypt 12-19-2014 02:14 AM

Thanks Tom. U coming to the Nats this year? Gavs got an itch!

Don good question. We have a fire evacuation plan as well as we will work with rural fire in winter to back burn and we are fully insured. Sadly my tanks wouldn't do much and usually they cut the power so not much help there. It's just a part of living in the bush. But it's pretty bloody wet here so we should be ok.

Matt
