Default Sydney visit Saturday

Hi guy's, I'll be at a loose end in Sydney on Saturday night. Anyone want to show me their build and chew the fat a while or even suggest some attraction for me to check out?
No drag meet on - that would have been good.
Dropping the girls to a concert at Homebush so free from about 6 to 11.

Cheers Dave

Dave

I'm across town but Parramatta Speedway is fairly close to Olympic Park. In the good old days you could have walked to 'The Brickies'.

Hey thanks Peter, terrific idea. I haven't seen a sprint car live in over 20 years. They closed Tralee speedway here about 18 years back. Noise complaints from encroaching suburbs.
They built another one here but I think it's pretty low key. Tralee was one of the premier tracks back in the day.

We used to go to the Speedway Royale - now Fox Studios - in the 50s and 60s. I'm sure it was the smell of methanol that got me addicted to cars for the remainder of my life. I've been back to a Speedway only once and that was to Parramatta about 15-20 years ago, but the red flags came out every couple of laps and there was no continuity - I wasn't all that impressed. However, when they got running they were pretty impressive.

Thanks Peter for this suggestion. Had a fat time - watching those sprint cars never gets old. 900hp on a 1/4 mile dirt oval; simply incredible.
