More for the jag rear in disassemble, repair, rebuild, replace, brace, paint and so on.
First up was for bracing to be welded on the control arms. Many custom irs forums suggested this bracing to reduce lateral movement and also to bridge the joint from the casting to the control arm tube. Since this was all apart, its not that hard to have plate steel cut trimmed and welded. This has now also been prepped and off to sandblast and powder coat.
A delivery from the USA this week in the form of Team CJ Bronze bushing kit (web link below). This replaces the fulcrum and carrier bearings and simplifies the original set up. Pic below shows all the original parts for just the control arm, let alone the hub. As you can see the bronze bushing kit simplifies this. The machining of these are just perfect and I look forward to assembling these.
Finally for today the diff plate. This appeared to be originally cut with an oxy but never trimmed, A few passes on a milling machine straightened up all the previous cuts. Then this is off to sandblast and paint as are the control arm tie bars.
