Is the chassis alloy or steel? If it's steel, is etch primer the right undercoat, or would a zinc based undercoat be more suitable?

are you powder coating over that or painting?

Chassis is steel.
The etch that i am using is a new product that i got of a spray painter friend (he is an absolute gun painter does alot of old chevs etc).He says that this is ideal due to the fact that i have some welding and fab work to do on the frame.
but will be finishing the chassis in 2k paint.
I will post the details of this product shortly.

Probably getting a bit ahead of myself but while reconditioning the front suspension i thought that we might try an decide on the body colour.
So we painted some shocks .
thinking we might go this colour with black stripes, what do you think?

How about calling it 'the burnt orange Holden wished they had'.

Iff you have enough long around to paint it.... Then go for it. I remember seeing pics of a brunt orange, satin black stripes, black wheels , and if looked badass. Well, it was a cobra so it looked badass anyway, but this looked real badass.

Ha ha well the only update i can give at this stage is that I purchased a donor car yesterday for the build .
Its a gen 3 statesman so at this stage i have to remove the running gear and fit it up, there wont be to much happening this week as im in the middle of discussions with the engineer and then wakefield for some Cobra porn. but thanks for keeping me keen .

You better be at the Nationals Phil - Mittagong is on 54 minutes away! I'm driving 7 hours to get there!

Very nice!
I built three RAM and worked on a few before I left Germany. They can be quite lightweight!

It's possible to make the LS engine quite pretty with a bit of work. This is something I've been attempting to do.

Cheers
