Dave and Treeve have given you the most important thing to do at this stage and that is to get the chassis OK'd.

A failure at this point is not fatal - you'll most likely be able to add some steel.

I bought someone's abandoned build and spent a lot of time looking for a build manual, when I eventually got one it turned out the parts were too old to be readily found (e.g. sigma steering column) or the standards had moved on. It did not take long for the build manual to be little more than a curiosity.

At the beginning of the build the engineer I was working with went through all the standards and how to meet them - having this information at the outset is very important and will help you identify your priorities.

Also at the outset, I took my car to the engineer, several guys in our club have had the engineer come to them.

This meant that a lot of the incidentals like door latches etc could be viewed - OK'd and/or tips given e.g. make sure you use grade 8 on that and that the bolt is marked (or similar)
