I took mine for a squirt today too.
Then it went back into the workshop to put the old diff back in it. The arsehole who rebuilt it said he could do it with his eyes closed, unfortunately I think he did. Not impressed, I could have stuffed it up without paying someone to do it. |
What's the new diff feel like?
|
It felt like I had bolted in an addition 50hp.
Unfortunately they where whining horses. |
I got my car's alignment sorted, for the front at least.
The traditional RMC / G-Force diff rear alignment issue has me toeing a tad left. There is not too much I am able to do to correct this for the moment. But importantly the new adjustable top arms have given me significantly more and even caster, road handling camber and some modest toe in. It is a road car predominantly. Most importantly though, whilst check between adjustments the car's right front brake was just tweaking between steering wheel swings. This led to discovering my driver's side hard line screw in point was not quite nipped up. Once home I retightened both the front brake line points and after a good bleed to the system I have eliminated the long pedal and have good brake feel back. Looking forward to some track time and even the weather for Saturday is looking kind. |

Wait till you go over some bumpy roads - keep your mouth closed so your teeth don't fallout. :-)

It actually comes out from below, not the side.
It will fall out if your shoulder isn't there to catch it. |
Hey guys, Everyone sounds really gee-d up for this weekend. Bet your chomping at the bit Ben after sorting your issues.
Chris and I are coming down to do the timing for the short events. Never been to Winton, any chance of a lap with someone if there's time on Sat arvo? We'll be down too late on Friday. See you there. |
David
You're welcome to a slow lap ??? with me as an equivalent car for a comparison. Am sure someone faster will also oblige too. Steve |
Thanks Slowy, fast or slow it doesn't matter. Haven't sat in mine for about 9-10 yrs.
|
Installed some race harnesses in mine.
Also replaced the rear stub axle retaining clips in the diff. I wasn't happy with the ones I had in there, and felt they needed to be a little stronger. While nothing has gone wrong, I was able to actually unseat the axle stubs from the diff with a good two-handed pull. Not now - there stuck in there real good! Otherwise, I'm ready to go. Two more sleeps woo hoo! |
Well done Guy. I have been up in Yarrawonga this week - coming back tomorrow. Weather has been great around here - looks great for Friday-Sun - 23,24,23.
Heading up early Friday morning to be at the track at 9am for a practice to fine tune my new back brakes. Cant wait too. cheers Gregg |
Sf 2016
Guy's,
The weather does look good for the event, another low twenties couple of days that we have come to expect from Victoria this time of the year, another reason for most liveable city :3DSMILE:. There are two groups heading up on Friday, the early group for the open practice (leaving the BP Wallan @ 7ish ) and the OTHER foodies having coffee and cake in Yarra Glen @ 10 then onto the Lakeside Hotel in Bonnie Doon for lunch and a Bible reading at noon :3DSMILE:. See you on Friday. Stiffy |
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend...sorry I can't be there....I'll have a drink for you.
Be safe, Regards, Warren. |

Good luck to all those traveling to and from.
Also have a blast when racing and keep the shiny side up (except Gav as all his bling is underneath - like me) http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...s/IMG_6659.jpg |
This is an old clip but a great one by Mikey

We have ours mainly setup in the half to 3/4 range and then tweak them to try and get the balance where we want it. I have a few cheat sheets for setup from the iRacing (sim game) forum. Obviously, not all the setup changes in the sheets we can make. Generally we can do shocks, tyre pressure and with enough time and the right people ride height, camber, caster and toe. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...heat_sheet.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...51101667_o.jpg In other news, heading off this arvo! Dad and I can't wait! :D |
Fantastic info.
Now if only we could increase the downforce :-( |
