Wheel repairs

Looking on other threads a few people have had damaged wheels repaired.
My two fronts still hold air but the rim lips are damaged.
Can anyone recommend a good repairer?

Same guys have done 3 sets of wheels for me.
Very happy with the results, price and service.

Settle down... I didn't damage any of them myself. Promise!%/

Hey Gav, glad to see you're out and back on the horse so to speak. Now comes the harrowing task of putting it back together.

Who knows, it might actually come out the other side painted ;)

I'm formulating a plan on how to move forward.
It is going to be a very different car when it is rebuilt.
The engine will be the same but that will be about it.

spookypt 04-26-2016 04:53 PM

Well done Gav.

Tell us about your plans regarding your rebuild vision.

Keeping the hard top (I need one Lol)?

Tell us more....

I bet Gav's considering a manual.....

Gav 04-26-2016 05:28 PM

Not sure on the manual, but I would be telling porkies if i said I hadn't thought about it.
The hard top will stay, it saved my life.
It will probably only be good for a mould now though.

spookypt 04-26-2016 05:39 PM

Gav by the time you use it as a mould, make 20, sell them all to CC members and are out driving your rejuvenated beast I'll still be waiting to get mine out of Backdraft!

If the ox is slow and the earth is patient well my ox is dead and my earth's been taken over by Aliens looking like Donald Trump!

spookypt 04-26-2016 05:41 PM

Seems the Aliens are already here if your watching the US Presidential race so I'm just out the back watching the ox begin to lean.......

Gav 04-26-2016 05:42 PM

I've had an accident and I don't understand that last bit...

spookypt 04-26-2016 05:59 PM

That's OK Gav all I was trying to say in my strange way was that despite trying very hard and being very patient I don't think Im ever going to see my BD hardtop. But Ill keep trying. Now back to your interesting topic...

What do you think your rebuild plans my be?? Any ideas....

lippy 04-26-2016 06:39 PM

I've had several wheels repaired (on another car) and they invariably crack at the repair and I end up buying a new one anyway. From now on if I have a cracked rim I'll just suck it up and replace it with a new one.

Wazza 04-26-2016 07:16 PM

Hey Gav,
Can you use the "Flying Cobra" logo somewhere on the new paint job ???
Too soon ??

Spook

Im finally getting around to fitting my hardtop this winter (Same as gavs with a few mods). Was thinking of popping a mould off it. Ill let you know if I do.

Cheers

Gav 04-26-2016 07:28 PM

Mizzi was thinking a confederate flag on the roof of the new top would be appropriate!!!
