Says the man who has a new aero hardtop and cam :-)

I think I'll have to lodge a protest on the aero kit :-) Definitely a 5 second advantage :-)

Nah mate, the cams a baby. 214/220 .559 .565. Should be good for around 40kw\50nm
Anything would be better than the stock L76 Cam: 200/208......0.472/0.479. Those lobes are barely out of round.

As for the top, I may run it, I may not. I might actually take it off and on and see if it actually makes any difference to times.

So what's up with the hardtop installation? I keep hoping for progress photos, while mine gets built by Mr. Bruce. What's the story?

So, I'm running the stock L77 setup that I presume is the same as the L76. I'll order the one you've spec'd and bring it up to the Nats. Can you get there Thursday arvo Andy? I'll help you change it over for me no probs. Should only take you, what, 3 hours and a six pack?

No worries, Andy! Really enjoying this thread! Are you planning any side windows?

Yes Ant, definitely side windows - I dont think you get the full benefit of having a top without them. I havent seen a design Im 100% happy with, so as an interim at least Ill probably go the style that attaches to the wind wind hinges and see how they go. Something like this:

Ive realised Im not going to get the top fully finished by nats but its getting close - happy to run it just in the flow coat rather than rush trying to get it fully done

Ive glassed in the frame on the hatch and rolled black flow coat on. First trial fit of the plexi - off to the bolt shop tomorrow for 40 odd button heads.

Just need to flow coat the top as body work is close to done, fit all the rubber and then work out some side windows.

With the expansion rate differences of acrylic versus the steel frame and fiberglass it might pay to drill the holes in the acrylic 1/2mm larger for a bit of wiggle room.

Cheers

I know from the line across the boot of my car from where the hardtop pushed down and rubbed on it that there was at least a bit of down force.

BTW I couldn't push it down far enough by hand to hit the boot so that says something.
