Default LHD exemption ?

G;day people;
Quick question for a friend of mine who asked me and I had nothing for him.

Is there an exemption through the club permit scheme for the importation and club use of a rare LHD vehicle less than 30 years old (2006 model) ?. It is argued that to change the car to RHD would ruin its value and he has no interest in doing that.

Thanks
Chris L

In case your friend lives outside of Vic, there is no such exemption available in Queensland.

NSW registraion - only if it is over 30 years old for a personal imported vehicle, so he must wait , or bring it in as a race car only, then wait until it's over 30 years old and try then!!!!!

Club Permit is 25 years I believe, just saying.

I know someone who had got a new Corvette stingray on club plates, as he ticked the replica item on the club reg and said it was a replica of a 60\70 stingray.
don't think its right, but the paper work lines up so why not.

AFAIK This type of action was the subject of a Vic Police submission - although I think the example they used was new vs. old Minis.

As to why not - for us in cobra land the answer is simple, it undermines the scheme and put the status of replicas under more pressure.
(I understand there are significant changes due for the Replica category)

Whoever you know that did this has acted in an extremely selfish way and to the detriment of other CPS users, I am surprised that their club would allow this action and when discovered it will have materially detrimental impact the scheme.

Also - for the OP - I think google VSI3 and VicRoads and there is a PDF
https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/~/me..._web.pdf?la=en

good luck

Does "Caution - Left hand Drive" need to be stickered on the bumper bars?

How about changing headlights to RH drive?

Thanks everyone for their input............the car was a 2006 Hertz GT350 anniversary Mustang, he has no interest in making it RHD.
Cheers
