Given workshop rates, down here anyway, range between $120-$150/hr (non dealer) and back yardies go for about half that(I was $40 10 years ago), I would have thought in retirement around 50 bucks an hour would be a good start, however at 700-800 hrs that's a princely 35-40K.

Question then is would someone pay that to assemble their kit? Might have to negotiate a fixed price up to an agreed stage.

I think most people might then prefer to go second hand and then spend some money fixing it up.
