Default Saul........AP #23

Its good to be back, as you may know i am planning to go the the 25th Cobra Nationals in my own car.

I have found a car AP #23, The car is still in kit form and I will need to assemble it. I am looking forward to see how well these kits go together and how quick it can be done.

I have upgraded the kit to ensure it is exactly as the current offering by AP. Nothing fancy just an LS3 and 6 speed, and maybe some sort of work to make the LS# look like a real motor.

So I have about 8 months to have the car assembled, tested, engineered and registered.

It will be definitely up for sale after the Nationals.

Eight months.....might be a stretch to have it registered by then, but the some people do work faster that I do. Good to have a goal though!

Cheers,
Glen

Default Not my first cook

Hey Glenn,
With my first cobra build the RTA were to change the emission requirements so every kit at the time had to be finished by the end of that year, it was a mad scramble, with the threat if you don't you would never get it thru.

6 weeks after I received the body and chassis, and that is all you got, the cobra was running around Oran Park doing its brake test.

I am looking forward to assembling this car as a lot of the hard work is already done.

If I could make the comparison, building an AP would be like buying a flat pack coffee table from IKEA, the Classic revivals I have built would be like buying an axe and going into the forest and cut down a tree.

If anyone is capable of getting it done in time, you are the one Phil.
Good luck with it and more luck when it comes time for Rego (that seems to be the major hurdle in NSW)

Does it come with the Allen Key Phil? Great to see you back - I reckon you might like the Pace so much you'll probably want to keep it.

Way to go Phil!

Look, I'm a novice and I built my Pace in 12 months, including a month off overseas in the middle. Rego took 6 months but that was a staff issue not a technical one. So I'm bl@@dy sure you could do it.

Happy to provide any advice if you need of a Pace-specific nature Phil. Doubt you'll need it though.

Looking forward to the 25th Nats already! Going to be a huge year.

Top stuff Phil. Looking forward to seeing it at the Nats2018. I'm blooding a new younger Sultana driver for mine in a couple of weeks at Phillip Island who says "he is better than me" and will "drive it like he stole it". Might give that Tenrocca a shake - hehehe cheers Gregg

Default Class

I will be in the 15s class.

Don't have to be able in the same class as Andrew to beat him, I will be in my bog stock AP running old school 15s, Andrew running modern sporty 17s is probably a good match up.

"modern sporty 17's"....lol

Some of you folk really have an unhealthy obsession with beating me. I'm mediocre at best and so nice to everyone these days.

It's not really an unhealthy obsession, more like a casual pastime.

Default Reckless

I would describe your driving as reckless at best.

Just setting low expectations Andrew, don't want to aim too high.

Age is just a number Benny. Some are higher, some are lower. A little like Wakefield PB's....
