Default N.T cobra regs

Hello everyone, I am about to be moveing from the tropical greenery of far north queensland to the dry open road country of Alice springs (too good a job offer).
My main question is , Does anyone know the regulations regarding cobra's in the Northern territory?
If not then does anyone know who i need to get in contact with to find out the regulations?
Thanks in advance.

David Rawnsley

Not sure about the regs in the Northern Teritory but I imagine they must be much the same as everywhere else. The ADRs are a federal thing and I imagine all of the states would have to keep pretty much in line with them.

There must be a roads corporation like VICROADS that looks after all of the regestrations and licencing. They should have an engineering department that would be able to tell you what you need.

Imagine owning a cobra in the only Aussie state with no speed limits..... I'd watch out for those road trains though. I was up there about 8 years ago and passing one of those going 100mph was fairly nerve racking.

Check out some of the cool number plates up there.

I want the cannonball plate!

Cheers

Default N.T plates

G'day Mike.
The number plates in the northern territory are now for sale at $50.00 once only cost and you can have 7 characters both numbers and letters, when i was there 2 weeks ago i saw a plate that was "MAAAATE" laughed my guts out
Recon i mightapply for 66SNAKE or 66COBRA maybe 427 COB any one of those will do.
regarding the open speed limits , it was a surprise to be sitting on 140km/hour and to be over taken by a police car.

The federal office of road safety administers the Australian design Rules which are applicable for all state and territories in Australia.

Ontop of that, each state / territory has their own additional interpretations that add further requirements.

In my state, NSW, the ADRs take precendence but the RTA of NSWs rules generally add to the ADRs.

I have all of the ADRs on CDROM. If you want more info PM me and Ill see what I can do to help.

Cheers
