Exclamation strange things you find.

I have found all sorts of strange things when working on cars and bikes .
1 found a 12mm socket in the fuel tank of my bike.
2 a dead bird stuck in the air inlet on another bike.
3 found a small piece of wood in the carby on torana it would idle but had no power it was stuck in the main jet . cant work out how it got in there.
4 found my dzus tool in the lining of craigs seat after i thought it was lost .

What else has been found??

I had an intermitent low water pressure problem in a pumping system. I would pressure test it, turn off valves, turn them back on, knock on the pipes, stand on one foot, howl to the moon, and the problem would go away. Couple of hours, maybe couple of days, it was BACK!!

Eventually I had some pipes cut open. We found a short piece of 2X4 floating around inside the pipe system, blocking it "sometimes". Welded, sealed pipe! Must have gotten in when the pipes were originally assembled (I guess, the welders denied everything, lol).

Purchased a 1970 GTO convertible in the spring of 1984 (back half being used as a chicken coop), intermittent fuel starvation problems under heavy acceleration...Started with the filter, fuel pump, carb, fuel lines...last item, hot tank the fuel tank at the local radiator shop......Found problem, dead rat in gas tank, under hard acceleration, the tail of this dead critter was getting sucked up in to the fuel pickup, thus causing the flow of fuel to stop, and the car to die...........

Scary but true..................

Scott - now you know why my passengers always used to sit in that seat making funny noises....

I found a complete set of nitrous pills (75hp to 250hp) behind the back seat of an old Holden Gemini that I bought off the 75 year old original owner!!! The sly old man must have been a streetracer after all.....
