Default Lexus + Turbo = :)

I was over at Scott's place today. I jumped in the driver's seat while Scott did the laptop tune in the passenger seat.

I'm impressed ! I was interested to see what the little 'ol Lexus motor felt like with a pretty big hairdryer mounted up front, and it didn't disappoint.

Rolled on the throttle in 4th gear at 60kmh. The nose lifted, the sound of the turbo winding up took over all other sounds. The single sidepipe started sounding more like the big banger Group C cars of times past, and the bloody thing started spinning the tyres !!!!

Anyone want to buy a 398 cube Ford motor? I think I'd have a good house deposit with the difference in price between my motor and a Lexus, and have just as much fun.....

Thats the way to go. Sell the taxi technology and move into the 20th century.

.... it's still a pretty quick taxi, though

I was looking at the way that he's going to adapt the 6sp Supra to his Lexus motor. He currently has a 5sp behind it. How are you adapting yours?

Hi all

Hey Shelby400 will you have the Cobra at Wakefield Park. Is the Compliance by the end of September still on time?

I am currently at McDonald's Bros. Racing putting the final bits on the Cobra. I plan to have it at Wakefield but in Gel coat white with flat black KH spray can black stripes.

Today a young guy came into the factory with a classic looking ( restored) XM Ford Coupe. I was blown away it had new leather interior and the real 1966 bolt on chrome extras. To make it even better it had a rear window venetian and white walls.

What surprised me was he had a near brand new Ford turbo six engine and running gear under it. Dad purchased a wrecked nearly new car and they stripped it. The motor has only 5,000 k's on it.

The XM at the time was on its side and being painted underneath and they suddenly changed direction and put all the late model gear under it. Now has 240+ kilowatts ( my estimate about 350 HP + ).

No doubt they will have some fun at the lights. They had a performance bolt on catologue on the floor of the car for engine add ons. No doubt some fun coming up.

Its good to see the world of modified cars is alive. The transport people at Vic Roads saw the modification as a desired preference to doing up older V8 parts and attempting compliance. It all went through without an engineer involved,

Tucked away in the back corner of the factory is the 1000HP car. The Trans Am that recently ran 964 HP at the rear wheels. 350 Dart alloy block with the biggest Vortex supercharger I have ever seen. I could not believe the rear wheel horse power until I saw the dyno sheet.

The car has just returned from the Sydney car show.

I am told it will be featured in every magazine soon

I have been doing some work whilst looking at all of these cars

Must get to bed as I have a big day at the factory tomorrow.

Cheers

Compliance will be by the end of September as far as the engineer is concerned. With the way NSW RTA take their time it may not be registered for a few months after that.
I will be at Goulburn but I will be driving that trusty X Trail.

Brenie - the car's already been in a magazine ,if it's the '82 to '92 shape, red colour while it was being built.

Horsepower is good!

Yeah you are right. They did an engine feature on the car.

Since posting I have found out it is set up for the Dyno Shootout.

It came second in Sydney being beaten by a twin set up Holden.

Its the red car with McDonald Bros. Racing on the doors and across the window. CAPA is across the front spoiler.

They said that four or five magazines will have articles.

Looks like a visit to the standing room at the local newagents where we all stand and read and look at pictures.

I look at pictures and tell Anne I buy them for the articles.

I think she believes me.

Its harder to get them out of the plastic covers now!!

Cheers

Must get back to work
