Default Garrett's Gearbox

Hi All,

I finished off the shifter mods on Garrett's gearbox and it goes back in this week. There's a Drag meet at Heathcote this week end so it'll be a good opertunity to see how the Superformance performs. I reckon Garrett will be just happy to have it back on the road

Here's a pic of the box before I crated it up for the courier.

Tremec T56

Cheers

Default Looking good Mike

Looks like you may get afew requests for this conversion.
Are you still welding the "bucket" for the lever to the shift linkage or have you secured it with a pin?
Just thinking about if I need to pull the box apart at a later stage.

P.S Ian sent me a pic of my chassis on friday, he also said my body will be mounted to the chassis some time this week.

Hi Dave,

It's always been held to the shaft with the original roll pin. It's actually much easier to strip and work on the gearbox after it's been modified. Getting the selector off the shaft and the H gate out is a real bugger before the mod. You don't even need to pull the extension housing after it's modified.

Not long now and you'll be able to sit in your car and make broom broom noises.

Bernie,

I was contemplating popping down last Saturday but I was flat out finishing the gearbox. Sounds like you are making good progress. I'll have to come for a look.

Cheers

Golly, that gearbox looks nothin' like mine!!!

Where's all the leaky trans fluid, dirt, oil and old peeling paint

And Heathcote Park is on the 28th not this weekend.

We only had the meeting on Thursday and you've cocked up the date all ready
Now I know for sure that nobody listens to me at those things

Were you actually talking at that meeting? Most of us in back were just making smart comments to each other about your haircut . Dates just aren't my thing, I'm always forgetting birthdays and aniversaries. I'm glad it's the 28th cause that means I can go. Sheparton swap meet is this week end so I would have had a clash.

"Where's all the leaky trans fluid, dirt, oil and old peeling paint " That's underneath my old F100. I just have to pressure wash the drive every few months

Cheers

Let me get this straight...

You could tell me the maximum torque rating of The TEUT1806 down to the eighth decimal point and you could probably tell me the total area of the decimal point in sq.nanometres.
But you can remember the 28th of November.

Arrr.. It all makes sense now.

I bet your wife could tell you the exact time and date of you first meeting. She probably knows the age and birthdays for all our grandparents, nesses and nephews and the neighbors.
But she wouldn't know how many sparkplug leads a V8 has.

I'll send out a reminder on the 25th.
Easy

Yep, just call me "Rain Man". I have a memory for useless trivia but can't remember anything remotely useful.

For Example, Did you know?

Elephants are the only land mammals that can't jump.

If you add up the circumference of two of an elephants feet, you get exactly the elephant's height.

The very first bomb dropped by the Allies on Berlin during World War II killed the only elephant in the Berlin Zoo.

Is all this elephant knowledge supposed to be telling us something Mike?
What else can you tell us about the elephant?

It's rumored that Asian Elephants enjoy eating the wild Marijuana that grows in the jungles there.

I think that's the limit of my Elephant knowledge.

Come on now Mike, I am sure there is some more useless info you could pass our way?

Hey there

You guys are unreal. Just where do you find this stuff.

Far to much spare time

Must say it kept me laughing for a while.

Mike,

Hope to be over there Saturday if all going well. Still have some sorting out with doors/latches and a few minor fittings to complete.

I know there is about about five or six solid days work left so I am on track.

Must thank ACAndy for chasing Doug up to get the hood bows done for me.

You wouldn't believe it, but the trimmer is away for a week so I may be pushed here.

Looks like a boot full of bike wet weather gear just in case

Cheers
