Cool Proof that Andy really does have 9".....

Andy sent some photos of his beautifully engineered Alloy 9" IRS. No doubt he'll chime in here to let us know the details. Looks great!!!

Thanks for posting those for me Craig!
I got the work done at a place called Diff Technics in Sydney. Con was very helpful and the result looks great.
It is a 3.00 ratio 9" centre with LSD, new everything inside aluminium pinion support, aluminium case, GTHO diff yolk all ready to hook up to my Jag IRS, (currently having outboard brakes fitted to it).
This was the only way I could think of to hold the power of the big block and have IRS as well.
As far as cost goes it was roughly $5000.00 Au, but at least it will be strong enough!

Andy.

That's a very nice looking piece of engineering you have there Andy. Looks like the housing has all the right mounts to drop straght in. Do these guys do other conversions i.e. Commodore and Falcon IRS 9" conversions?

It's nice to have the extra strength of the 9" but is it really waranted? How well have Jag centers been holding up in Big Block Cobras to date? I'm not criticising your choice, I think the diff looks awesome, I'm just curious as to how meer mortal diffs hold up.

You've got me wondering if my AU Falcon diff center will pop when I turn the wick up on the LS1.

Cheers

Mike, I know they do Commodores and Corvettes, not sure about Falcon diffs. Worth a call all the same.

The reason I uprated is because I am trying to eliminate as many weak links as possible before I get the car on the road. I dont want it broken in the garage every weekend.

It will need something decent to turn the NASCAR slicks i've got on the back!

Andy.
