Question Torana power steering.

Can someone confirm the following:

TF Cortina power steering rack will bolt up to an LX Torana front end.

Have a look at the LH - LX - UC forum at http://www.gmh-torana.com . I have seen it discussed here quite a bit.

From memory Castlemaine Rod Shop do the conversion.

I looked into it but feed back from that forum suggested you needed to send crossmember, cortina rack and steering arms to them for conversion - so not exactly bolt on and a bit difficult from NZ!

Cheers

Had a read through the Torana forums, found some other info on the net as well.
I think I'll hunt down a rack and see if I can work it out myself (with a little help from my friends ).
I'm thinking about using a MR2 electric pump. That way I can have power steering when I'm parking and turn it off on the track.
I'll add it to the list with the BMW front calipers.

No hurry though, I'll probably start both projects 2 weeks out from the next Nationals )

Jason

I have just completed the BMW caliper conversion and it works perfectly. Only mod is that you have to widen the caliper by about 2 mil. This is done by grinding the casting. Otherwise its a very simple procedure.

Excellent work!

It's already been added to the list.
I might put it at the top now I know it's an easy one.
