Default PCC - how's your car now?

Peter, I never heard how your car turned out. Is it all fixed now? I hate electrical problems more than anthing, so I'm hoping your car turned out well...

Excellent.

The problem was the airflow meter... too much fuel flooding the plugs to the point that the sun was needed to evaporate the excess fuel. The meter said more fuel, the engine said wohhhhh.

It had reached the point that flames were regularly seen shooting out of the back end (some would say cool - and they did, but the smell of fuel was rather disconcerting).

After a computer link up it was discovered that there were 4 earth leakages, which simply compounded any starting problem.

Now the car runs like a modern day V8 and is totally in sinc with the auto box.

Hat's off to Paul Geary (he has a pretty mean looking Pontiac Sedan Racer too).

Hey by the way, did you model your scoop off Carol Shelby's personal Cobra? - will post a pic sometime.

Great to hear that everything's going well, Peter. Tim's GT40 has always run a bit rich, so I thought it was him gassing me out when we were driving to your place.

IT WAS YOU !!!!!

I've seen that bolbous scoop on the twin supercharged cars that he and Bill Cosby owned. Mine was more a matter of Scott and I glueing a Hornet scoop and a cubic metre of foam onto my bonnet. We then went crazy with files and grinders, smothered it all with bog, then stood back and thought to ourselves "It's pretty big, isn't it?!?!?"

That became the mould, and the rest is history...

Hi Craig,

See you looking around here, so thought I would say hello.

Have taken the rest of the day off and will be placing the last of the aluminium in the Cobra here.

The Cobra goes into Doug's shop in Lilydale Melbourne during late March for painting...

Hope to have the roof frame/cover and the exhaust all sorted by then.

That way it will leave looking like a finished Cobra. At the moment it looks a little plain in the white Gel coat and the flat black stripes. Mind you I didn't `flinch when I droped a screwdriver on the guard/fender.

I have put the static cling Finishline stickers/decals on just to take away from the plain look. Two small blue stripes over the front guard/fender also .

Its a pity Homebush don't do the body in a dark blue Gel coat. I would be happy to leave it in Gel coat for a little longer.

Anyway, hope you had a good New Year and that 2004 is a good one for you and all up in Queensland.

Ooooopss..... a Victorian member being nice to Queenslanders.

Cheers

Bernie
