Default Look Out, Angry Corvette

Found this video on another forum. Traction, What Traction? Pretty scary since it's naturally aspirated and only 310 cubic inches.

Angry Corvette

Right click on the link and download it. The file is a bit under 4 megs.

Cheers

Mike,

This is exactly what my Cobra is doing - may be its a Corvette!

Nice vid - like to see the in cockpit view with the driver grappling with the steering.

Actually that looks like what happens when you put a roadrace car on a dragstrip.
The lightswitch clutch, tall first gear, and stiff suspension and tires make these things a handful just to get rolling, but once rolling...watch out!

AAAaaaahhh, it's a beautiful sound - big revs and wheelspin !!!!! That video has been around for quite a while now, but I'll never get sick of watching (or listening to) it.

Ok guys - serious question.

Unless that engine is pulling 12k revs or more, which I can't believe unless its a F1 lump or similar, how does that car make such a high-pitched sound? Is it the exhaust configuration?

That exhaust note is characteristic of a V8 with one of the following:
180 degree (or flat) crankshaft.
180 degree headers. Like the "Bundle of Snakes" on the GT40's.
X-Pipe type exhaust system, sometimes with a Y-collector and single outlet.

13.5 @126 with all the drama...imagine what he could do if he loosened up the suspension a bit to get it to hook up on the dragstrip! It usually is good etiquette to stay in ONE lane, as well!

Whoa, I'm dang glad these bikes weren't around when I was growing up, or I likely wouldn't have.
