Looks great Cameron, thanks for the pics.
I'm not even going to have a crack about Melbournites needing a hard top cuz of the rain and cold.
Noooo..not me. I've got a new years resolution to maintain.

Looking pretty neat Cameron.
Now lets have a chat about that top.
I know it doesn't rain much here, but when it does it sure does!!! like right now.
Did DRB supply the top?
Did you have to carry out much in the way of modifications for what looks like a very nice fit?
I almost bought a top locally just before x-mas but was put off by the work (more like the $$$$ needed) to get it right.
If DRB has a standard top, which fits well that might the road to go down.

Yes the hard top came from DRB.
It really is a great fit but thats because I ordered it with the body chasis and they fitted it for free.
Should not be difficult to fit it your self though. If you order the hard top alone I think the chanel that fits onto the windscreen is a seperate piece, so all you have to do is fit it to the windscreen and glue it to the hard top.
If the prices are still the same it was $655 for the hard top and $195 for the rear window (not yet fitted in photo). The only other costs would be window rubber (about $40 with chrome locking strip), chrome ferrules to make the 2 holes in the rear deck look nice (about $40 pair from Europa spares), linning if you are going to line the hard top and I'm using 2 over centre clips to lock down the front (about $55 pair from Europa spares).
I will add a pic with the furrules, they look pretty neat.
Regards

The top does look good. Just spray flat black stripes on now and join the Gel coat set. I get touchy if people copy me
Ready for Xmas
Cheers

Cameron,
I thought that rear window looked good.
How's that engine fitting now?
I've just picked up a replacement digital camera so if you need anymore shots just let me know.
It has a movie function so I'll find a way of reducing the size of clips and post a few onto the site.
I'm busy tarting the engine bay up - blue and more blue, although not quite the same when you don't have the polished carbies / filter etc.

Hi Peter,
I've got a job for your new camera. I'm about to fit my radiator. If I fit it as per instructions it looks as though it will hang pretty low. Could you take a couple of pics of your radiator and mounts. I'm interested in seeing how close the radiator is to the top of the fibre glass nose.
My engine fits. Although the flexable induction tube touches the bonnet. It will be interesting to see what happens when I rev the engine (thats a fair way off yet).
I thought your engine bay allready looked great. It would be good to see pics of the engine bay when you finish.
Have fun

Cameron,
You're right - the radiator sits very low (4'' off the ground) and it takes a pounding along with the nose (will post some pics in the next couple of days).
The problem is that you can't lift it any higher due to the top end clearance, unless you fit a custom radiator.

Cameron,
Just posted some radiator fixing pics in my gallery.
The bottom of the radiator sits 20mm below the underside of the nose at the same level as the chassis.
As I said before, at 4" inch clearance from floor to radiator / chassis the car was just too low.
It's now lifted (further pic in gallery) so that the clearance is 170mm - much better and the car is starting to look like a Cobra again!
Engine revamp pics on their way soon.

Thanks for the pics Peter,
Mounting points are quite different to mine, I guess because you have Jag frount end and I have Torana.
After reading how your radiator was taking a pounding I decided to tilt my radiator forward. This enabled it to clear the bonnet hinges so I could mount it higher. It now sits 40mm higher.
Just got my headers from DRB today. Test fitted them half expecting them to hit the body somewhere. Was very pleased that they leave plenty of space between the body and headers. Then was dissapointed that the drivers side headers contact a head bolt and do not seal. The passanger side contacts the engine mount but looks like the angle grinder will fix it.
More stuffing around
