Default Tyre wear.

Not sure if this has been covered before but what sort of km's do you guys get out of a set of i) front tyres and ii) rear tyres.

The brand of tyre used would be interesting also.

What pressures do you run. I have been told somewhere between 20psi and 25 psi works OK.

Regards,

Phil

Garrett should chime in here. I think he's single handedly keeping Bob Jane in business. What's it been, 2 sets of rears in 7,000KM?

I've got a pair of his worn out rears in the back of the shed and there ain't much left on them. All torque and no traction

Cheers

Just about fu#^@d my tyres in 12,000k's. Must be the rough highways Mrs. REPTYL talks about.

Cheers

Tyre or Tire wear is directly proportional to the type of driving and the road conditions.

If you're gonna play, you're gonna pay.

If you chaps would quit driving up-side-down, may be the tires would last longer. LOL

Typically I got around 10k miles out of a set of rubber. But, that was a good 20 to 30 years ago.

Hope this helps.

I just cannot work it out?

Is it the driving up side down or the constant 360's that cause wear.

Cheers

Yeah thanks there Mike,

Not happy with my tire wear, but i've worked out that if i leave the gal in the shed the tires last longer.
Mind you shes in the shed still at CTC with that special development issiue being attended to, although i think this may increase the excessive tire use

Mike if i take even more of the preload off the rear will this help ?

Thanks in advance.

Might look at those pilot tyres

I dont know what you guys do with your cars but that tyre wear seems a bit excessive . Just remember though the bigger the tyre width the softer the rubber needs to be to hold you to the black stuff . I have 235/35/18 on my clubby and i just changed them after 18,000 and i do a bit of excessive driving around corners and also this car weighs in at 1700 kg so i would have thought when my Cobra is on the road i should get more then 20,000 as it is so light .

The lighter the car, the heavier the right foot.

What do we do????

Numerous 360's (donuts)
Roll backs
360's out of corners.
Drifts
Sideways drifts into the parking line
Burnouts

And that's all at McDonald's through the Drive - Thru.

Cheers

Bernie

I have been for a quick lap around the block with Garrett & I can fully understand why his tyres last 7000 kl, I allmost would have thought that was a good number of k's on his tyres.
