Default What shockies to get

Hey there everyone.

I am getting ready to order my shockies soon and 1 question I have is should I get single adjustable (rebound) or double adjustable (compression & rebound)?

We sell acouple of different brand shockies mainly being AVO & STRANGE ENGINEERING, can anyone give me an idea asto which may be better, has anyone used either 1?

Hey Boxhead!

Koni's are the way to go

If you can afford them u want the adjustable compression and rebound ones.

Koni have the best shocks on the market bar none, buy you get what you pay for.

Rancho shocks aint to bad either, there 5 way adjustable and have a knob for adjustment and don't have to be removed to change settings.
Rancho are available through Auto Alliance in Sydney.

Cheers Robo

Hi David, the AVO's I believe have a single adjustment but it affects both compression and rebound. There's about 20 or so adjustment positions on the knob. AVO do some billet aluminium double adjustables as well.

The Konis are very good but they are very expensive too.

Give the guys at Austrack motorsport a call for AVO prices. I've been dealing with these guys a bit and they have been very helpful. I think Ian buys his AVOs from these guys.

Austrack Motorsport

Cheers

Hi all

Used QA1 - see my photo gallery.

They have 10 different adjustments. Had some initial problem with the car stepping out at about 180 - 190,

Then adjusted them down to 8 and this stopped.

Don't know prices but ring McDonald Bros. Racing in Melbourne on 03 9 4650000.

Cheers

Bernie

I have used both Koni's and the QA1s on my car and now have the QA1s. I like the 12 was adjustable rebound and they are a lot easier to adjust than the Knois. Really never noticed that much difference in price between the two, but both are really good.
