For sale black Ford Falcon ute. Driven as work vehicle low kilometres. Well cared for.

For Sale black Falcon ute used regularly at Wakefield Park Raceway. Fastest over 1/8 mile. Inner guards and under floor treated in rubber to prevent rust. Low mileage (speedo disconnected.)

Hi Andy,

I'm certainly going to try to get it there. The car has to be registered by the end of the year anyway so it should be pretty close by then. It might be on a trailer and still in gelcoat or primer though.

Cheers

Talking of handfulls. How do you best steer a Cobra , my right elbow keeps mixing it with the top of the door. A modified door looks like happening for track work.

The black ute still happily bounces off the rev limiter in first and second, daily!

No doubt some of you saw the ute in action at last years Nationals, with about 6000kms on the clock since new!

The most bizarre part was that I drove it all the way there from Melbourne, drove it reasonably hard on the track all weekend, drove all the way home again on the Sunday late afternoon, no speeding fines no accidents, not a scratch on it.

Drove it to work the next morning and rear ended a Telstra ute, two km's from home! Hardly any damage, only a small hole in the bumper. The guy i hit couldnt work out why i was laughing when i got out. I said "if only you knew what it had been through on the weekend, you would laugh too". (Bloody Telstra).

Andy.

Here's a little something for Andy...... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....sPageName=WDVW

Mike - do you know of anyone with a Whipple/Lysholm/Sprintex blower on an AU 5.0L ? I'd love to give my lowly little "unstroked" ute a bit of a helping hand. It's mainly a lack of low rpm torque that makes mine feel relatively slow, so I don't think a Vortech would be any good for my ute.

Hi Craig,

Don't know any one with a PD blower setup on a 5.0 Windsor but I agree that would be the way to go for bottom end grunt. There must be plenty of kits available for them in the US that would adapt up. How about the Kennie Bell kits?

I was quite surprised at the numbers my 5.6 made. Most of the reports I read on the new 5.4 in the BA say they make about 190ish at the rear wheels and they are suposed to be 260KW at the crank. I think the 5.4 is a bit more civilized than mine and definitely gets better fuel economy. I'm generally seing figures up around 20L/100KM ouch! Might have more to do with my right foot and the kind of behaviour the pedal under it encourages.

Cheers

20L/100K I was getting annoyed at my 13.5/100, so I guess I shouldn't really complain !

I've read of some reliability problems with the KB kit, but I'll have to look further at the type of problems. I'm half inclined to just bolt a B&M/Holley 174 Powercharger on there and adapt the MAF and T/Body from there. The B&M blower on my 302 Cortina made the BEST sound when it was making boost, and the bottom end grunt was fantastic.

Or maybe I should just leave the ute as my daily driver and concentrate on the Cobra...
