ceramic coat exhaust
Hi all, I need evedence of who can do a perfect job ceramic coating my pipes. As we all know it is easy to be stuffed around by workshops that promise the world... and deliver crap workman ship. I'm tyred of run arounds.
I've just spent a couple of days making my equal length extractors, & I'd like them to last... I posted pics.
Please if you know a company who do a great job in Australia, and you have had personal experience with them, pass your wealth of knowledge onto me
Thanx to any help...Simmo

Header coatings
Simon
A few issues ago, Snaketales (issue number anyone??) had a letter on Jet-hot and HPC where the correspondent got stuck into one over the other for substandard work. Sorry but I don't recall which got the nod. I gather there are others but these two seem to be arch competitors. Both are in country Victoria, both are licencees of a USA product and both are well used to mail order. I'm about to take a set of Genies (from my son's V8 Commodore) to HPC who seem to do lovely work.
From time to time, however, it seems the outcome from them all is not what we would envisage. Discolouration etc.
I'm interested to hear of disasters, successes from others.
Good hunting.

I used HPC down in Leongatha and they did a great job. They were fast and packed and shipped it back to me without any drama. The coating seems to be very thick and throughout but have not had the riggers of time/heat so cant comment on discoloring yet. I have underbody dual exhaust which was $680 to coat which seemed pretty good?? have heard bad storys of other coaters. Gallery has some shots of it.

Stay away from Jet hot, I’ve herd of many bad results coming from the workshop.
HPC are the way to go. They have a great reputation, I have used them myself on many occasions.

Use HPC in Leongatha
F K stay away from the other, use HPC.
My pipes have flaked requiring a respray from heat proof can paint and they look better. Not bad for a nearly $340 job.
I should have used HPC instead of the other.

Thanks fellas for the comments... I was unsure about which of the two main coaters (jet hot or HPC) would do the better job, however at this stage I think that HPC have won my Quote.
This site is fantastic I should have joined 3 years ago!!! a few headaches may have been avoided, its great that people are willing to help...Thanks... simmo

Just sent my headers and sidepipes to HPC at Leongatha. Going to be sprayed inside and out in black. Quoted price is $550.00 incl GST. One week turnaround. Then its bolt on and drive time. then LS1 edit at SAMS Performance . That should be interesting.
Regards,
Phil.

Mine will be going to HPC in Leongatha as well. I had some pipes for my bike done at Jet Hot a while back and wasn't real impressed with the results. Difilippo engineering get all their headers done at HPC and the ones I've seen in their factory look spot on.
Phil's getting a MAFless Edit tune from Sam. My prediction after the edit is 300 Rear Wheel HP out of a stock LS1.
Any one want to guess any different?
Cheers
