Melb Calder Park Track Day
OK Lads, we saw a few hands up at the meeting regarding those interested and a little putt putt around a track.
With the group Email Mr ( No show ) Duncan ( probably say its work related ) has tried to organize a day TOMORROW 18th AUG at the track.
Well Who is going ?????
Weather is looking Hot digity dog in the bag ( for a change here in Melbourne, " perfect one day pi$$ing down the next. " )
Come On Come On

Garrett
Sorry, not ready/finished yet. Will be back at Doug's factory this weekend to complete the re fit.
Have a slight problem with the left bank. Possibly - I hope - only a broken stud or spring.
Have fun. "Post" some pictures.
Cheers
Bernie

Jason
Now if I can work out how to send your "Post" onto your office..
Looks like you guys have the perfect day. Just spoke with Tim at McDonald's Calder Hwy. and he said the weather is great.
Perhaps I should have met with him in person and then headed across to Calder Raceway.
Envious..

Wish you guys all the best. If I could dig myself out of the three storey high pile of work I would be out there enjoying myself.
My last times in 2001 were 1 minute 10 on old hard T/A 's, you boys should be down in the 1.05's.
Hope Justbetter can keep out of the sand.

No Sand Day
Whhhoooo
All we needed was some grid girls and the day would have been a 11.
Top turn out with BATMAN and my self on the track at 9.03am, now thats keen
We both got the very tight look over from the official, yep just one, think he kicked on of our tires, wiggled some leeds under the bonnet, slapped us on the backs, and said we have opened the gate at the end of the straight incase you need a longer run off, oh and if you spin out ant the end of turn three and cant get going, we cant see you there, but we will be along after our coffee... oh and one last thing "feel free you use the fire Extinguishers." WE WERE OFF...
Loved it, unofficially 1.06, p.s my ball$ are still there with over 240klms at the end of the straight then, Brake, Hang on, change down, change down again, a bit of a wiggle, turn, point, and plant it, was really funnnnnn.
I'll leave it here for a couple of the others to share their day too.
Thanks to all that came and Peter for organising the day.

Top day out. (how can we tell?)
Tyres down to the canvas and the back brake went metal to metal on the way home.
Car stops fantastic with the new BMW callipers up front and the new adjustable brake bias .
Had a big miss in the engine that robbed a good 30-40 kw but it only really affected the top speed on the main straight (only 210).
Had 5 spins due to the **** tyres (not only cheap but bald!).
The next set on will be the best we've had (Michelin Pilots on the rear and Yoky sz1's (I think) on the front)).
No excuses then.
Didn’t time all the laps, clocked a 1.16 on the nokia.(I think)
Jude knocked a few laps over and had some fun (1 spin) no times.

What an awesome day
Sun, sound and speed. WOOHOO
Although the sun hasn't even set on the day and already the tall tales come out. According to NOKIA (the official time keeper of the day) there may have been an extra couple of seconds on someones times (ahherm, cough cough) so COBTHAT.
I managed a fairly consistant 1.18-1.20 for almost all the laps with a terminal speed of 215 (last safe glimpse before a hard test of old Jag braking facilities.
Lots O'Fun
More later
Cheers

nice work
Its great that your ears are hurting after going racing garret. Batman youre always there to to keep them in line and give them a bit of stick. I was there the day before, 210 km was as quick as i could make before chickening out. Hope your car tyre spun on top of that little rise always good fun

What do you mean - there the day before!
Too good to be seen messing it with the club comminers.
or to scared that we'd find out it was 110 not 210.
I'm guessing you'll be heading to Wakefield for the last weekend of September this year.
That way you should be well and trully finished before we arrive.
You can tell us all about the sub 1 minute lap times at the meeting.

No President at next Meeting
Jason N,
The day before!!!
Don't leave any doors open for your Proxy for the meeting to abuse .
Let's see just making some notes for the next meeting......
Garrett - Very impressive 9:03am start, looked very quick on the track, a little slippery over the rise and AAAAARRRGH! LOUD...
Batman - Very impressive clean 215ks (Nice work David!!), prompt 9:03am start also, who needs brakes anyway.
Ross - Very impressive, quiet achiever and the Robnell looked and went a treat on the track.
John - The white monster was giving George V's racing cobra a run for his money! Just got to like that!!!.
Jason and Judy - Excellent brake work! .. Got to get one of those bias controls on my car... 210K's with 30 - 40KW down on power, tyres down to canvase at the end of the day simply sensational!
Jason N - Jason Who?? The day before????....isnt 110k's the speed limit just after Calder Raceway? 110 sounds perfect to read out at the meeting!!!
Ha ha ha
