two questions,
1/ How do you attach photo's to a thread?
2/ how do you load photo's into the gallery?

Flip,

To load a picture directly into the thread, use the "Attach file" tab. Make sure your photo is no more than 40 Mb as otherwise it will not load.

To ensure it is less than 40 Mb open your photo using Microsoft Paint and using the Image tab skew to whatever % to get to less than 40Mb (I start with 70% vertical and horizontal and then save the file - go back to the photo and left click on properties to see the size of the file. If still too big, simply skew again).

Sounds like alot of work, but once you've done it a few times its a breeze.

The other way is to use the http:// tab when writing your thread. This way you don't have to reduce the size of the photo. You simply link it to a web address (title first - web sit second) and then a link will appear in your thread.

Don't worry if you don't have a web site....just load into your gallery and copy the address over into the http tab.

I find the second option tidier.

Finally, to load your photos into your gallery go to your personal settings and upload into your gallery. Just check that it is your gallery and not the general picture area (You'll be given several options as where to load to)

Hope the above helps

Flip,

I just went to your gallery and the buttons are there. They are at the very top on the right hand side in light blue. I forget the sequence but one of them is upload to gallery. If you have more problems just ask.

Ron

to upload pics you click on the cobra gallery link (red and white cobra on the left side of page near top). http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/foru...?s=&forumid=65

Then on the right hand side of next page there is a link that says "upload picture", (it is just above the search area where you type in the search title) http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/index.php

That takes you to the next page where you select browse and find the picture you want to load into your gallery (there is a size limit to the pictures) once you have selected the picture you scroll to the bottom of this page and click "submit" http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/uploadphoto.php

Then on the next page it lets you give the picture a title and a discription, once you have done that at the bottom of this page you click "process files". http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/b...10&processall=

And that should be about it, it is very easy once you have done it a couple of times.

One thing I have noticed and forgive me for not knowing why but I can only submit pics labeled jpg.
I have tried uploading pics as bitmap and it didnt work.

I hope this helps and all the links I put in work.

Boxhead,

I think the gallery settings are only for JPG and maybe GIF. BMP pictures are generally a lot larger in pixel size and most places on the net prefer JPG as that is a standard and smaller picture.

Flip,

The easy way to get to your gallery is just to click on the camera icon next to your name. That will take you directly to your gallery which now shows empty, but you will fine the upload button to the right top as I mentioned above.

Flip,

Like any computer issue, there's many ways of posting your photos, but follow Ron's advise as you'll find that the easy way to upload into your gallery.

Just make sure you direct them to your gallery and not the main pic site.

Good luck mate and I look forward to seeing the photos

Flip,

I think your problem is that you are not flipping well logged in - sorry for the pun.

I get the same screen as you, but if you log in it then gives you the chance to upload.

Good luck!

PCC I have logged in It must be the Flipping site (your pun) I have to be logged in to post a reply. Is there different levels of member?
I have also re logged in on the gallery page and I still get the same screen.
Maybe the Cobra has to be registered before you are allowed to post

Straaaaaaange....

I have just looked in your gallery (through the camera icon) and can see "upload photos".

You're right about one thing....

You're doing something wrong.

Send a PM to Brent Mills (Moderator) and he should explain or search on upload or photos and you'll find an answer to your problem - photo queries are often getting raised.

I'll rephrase good luck to you'll get there

Hey Phil

any luck with the photos?

I too went into your camera icon and I can see the upload photos icon as well! It seems strange that your page is still registering as Login (blue writing on the right, half way up) when you supposedly already are! Strange!

Flip,
next to your name in the author column is an icon in the shape of a camera, click on that icon. It will take you to MY GALLERY | MY FAVORITES, to the right in that line is Upload Photos.

Looking forward to seeing your photos.

Regards.

Cool

Flip,

I looked at the screen shot you posted and you aren't going far enough if you insist on using this procedure. On the LEFT hand side of that page in the same row as the small stuff on the right side and above the member galleries, is two small choices. One is My Gallery which will take you to your gallery. There are several ways to post to your gallery but I just go to the icon on my posts and that takes me straight to my gallery without going through the other three or four steps.

Ron

Flip,

I didn't see anyone answer your question about attaching pictures to a post (unless I missed it).

To do that, you must use the "Post Reply" button on the last post of a thread. The "Quick Reply" box does not give you that option. Once you hit the "Post Reply" button, you see the "add attachment" box.

The Gallery posting process is different as outlined by others above, but you must go all the way into your Gallery where there will be a very small "add a photo" button.
