Thanks Guys.....

Some good info.

Will go for a gear reduction model.

The problem with my old one was that I'm pretty sure I damaged the solenoid (unserviceable) due to a low battery.

I then started having hot start problems which needed a hammer to free the motor (sounds like a brush problem).

Not good when you're stranded with no roof
