The Clock is Ticking
Any of you Victorian guys building Cobras better have a contract in place with an engineer before 31 Dec 2004.
Any Cobras built after 1st Jan 2005 will need to meet the new emissions rules. However if you have a car under construction and an engineer contracted you will have a 3 year grace period.
This is the official word from my engineer.
My engineer is a guy named Colin Young and he's with a firm called A. Enkelman and Associates in Braeside. Colin just engineered Leeroy's car and is experienced in engineering Cobras.
Colin told me that if anyone is stuck for showing that they have an engineer engaged/contracted that they can give him a call. He'll set you up with a contract but there is no obligation to complete the engineering report with him.
His prices seem to be pretty reasonable and Leeroy got through with no major hassles.
You can call him on 9580 3024 but he's hard to get hold of. Alternatively you can fax him your details on 9587 1268.
Info to include in the Fax:
Name,
Address,
Contact phone number,
Cobra manufacturer
Chassis number
Engine type,
Year of engine manufacture,
Engine number (If you have it).
Cheers
