Default Heathcote - How many passes did u do?

Had a ball at the W/E and loved the drags on Sunday (My cars not quite the snail as I thought - 3rd woohoo
Had a couple of comments about how many passes I was doing and just wondered how many passes other people did.
Also, how many passes did you do for the DYO?
(I heard a whisper that some in the DYO only ran twice & still went home grinning, trophy in hand )
Ran a flat 14 for the DYO & a best time of 13.97 in a stock 5.0
Cheers

Default Drags

I have 8 run tickets not sure how many runs I actually had.
13.5602 seconds was my best time.
Got outed in the first round due to the heathcote people entering a wrong dial in number lost by 0.5 seconds.
Nothing to say I would have got through the next round but I was pissed when I saw the wrong time on the ticket.
Great day anyway.
Cheers,
Bryan

Edit 10 to 8 tickets had a couple of duplicates

Batman,

What a great weekend.
Did 4 passes with two up then clutch went to lunch.
Did a 12.7 at 107mph and picked up second trophy.
Not bad for stock Gen 111.
Next year I will run 22psi instead of 36 psi in rear tyres, not have a passenger and change gear before the rev limiter.

And I will have a new clutch.

Thanks to Jason and Tony for their efforts that made it a fun time for all.

Phil

You may not have been the quickest Dave but you did have the most runs before the DYO (9).
Don did 8, Ross in the GT40 did 8. Most did between 3 and 6.
I did 6 runs before the DYO.
Ran Adrian, you and Steve in the GT40 before getting off the line to fast against Robert to loss the final.
Just checked the sheet no body did less than 4 runs to win a DYO trophy. Robert and I had 4 runs and Steve had 5 after losing to me and going in to a play off against the other semis loser for third place.
I was a little pissed off that Heathcote couldn't sort out the second drivers in the same DYO comp.
If we included the DYO results in to the Championship trophy calculations, I would have picked up same more shinnies for the trophy box.

13.02 was my best then 13.07 13.09, 13.10, 13.12 ect....

"BEST WEEKEND EVER IN THE COBRA"

Winton was Awesome also!

An impressive performance to watch from the passengers seat.

Spinning the wheels for half the track and banging on the rev limiter in every gear. There's a lot of performance potential left in that combination. I reckon dropping the tyre pressures and working on your launch and shifting technque should see you getting down into the 11's

Definitely put me off the idea of looking for more HP with turbo or blower too. There's more than enough get up and go in the standard Gen 3 motor.

Thanks for the ride Phil

I had a couple of runs in the Ute during the test and tune and clocked a 14.4 @98MPH and a 14.3 at 99MPH. OK numbers since it's stock and the original road tests quoted 14.2 1/4 mile from memory.

I didn't drop the tyre pressures, I just unloaded the stuff out of the back ad had a go. I let auto do the shifting and I think it was still in economy mode. Great fun I'll have to try it again at Calder one night.

Cheers

Phil & Mike, You are dead set correct...very very impressive numbers from a dead stock Gen111.

What rear tyres were you running and whats your diff ratio?

Sounds like some chassis tuning is on the agenda.

Hi Les,

Phil is running 3.46 rear gears and 275/40/17 Falken tyres.

I'm now curious how my 3.9 gear 315/35/17 tyre combination will work. More wheel spin from the lower gears but also more rubber on the road. Should be interesting.

Cheers

OUCH Mike!.

Same diameter but bigger footprint and Lower diff ..... hmmm

If Phil was spinning them half the track...sounds like a change in ratios for you maybe?

You'll fry those 315's
