Question V8 Supercar Powered Cobra.

I heard of a Cobra in Aussie, that has a V8 Supercar engine in it, putting out HP in the 700's. Does Anyone have any info, specs, etc, about this. Is this 750hp's (member on CC) car. I just remembered about this car and put 2 & 2 together, but I could be wrong.

HELP PLEASE, I WANNA KNOW!!!!!

I know of a pinky/purply coloured car that had a really old style V8 Supercar motor. It was so old that it had done a few seasons racing, then a few of corporate drive days and a season or two of Konica V8 before being rebuilt and pensioned off. It still had the Motec 2D system (back when you had to change settings with a screwdriver), and it might have made 420hp if lucky.

Current motors are making around 620 to 630hp, so any 700+ motor might only still have the intake manifold to resemble a race engine. More cubes, more compression, more camshaft, more revs, etc

Let me know what you find out. I've often thought a dry sumped 410 cube World of Outlaws Sprintcar motor with a little less cam and compression would be the ultimate Cobra motor.

302cobra

There is one partially built in Melbourne. The engine is to spec and has a Holinger and full rear end from a V8 Supercar.

The owner is occassionally on the Forum here.

I'm not sure as to the current progress on the Cobra.

Doug Pearce maybe able to give you additional details on the build etc. Work 03 97394222.

It is owned by a customer so Doug may refer you to him.
