At the Qld club Breaky on sunday the topic of street class came up in our breaky chat . it went like this how are they going to enforce the guide lines for strreet class at the nationals how? do you determine a stock engine? how do you determine a street tyre ? and why is it only 15" rims when probably 50 % of cobras built now have bigger diameter rims ie like my cobra has 18" rims but has normal road tyres not racing spec. the tyre problem is easy to solve as the tyres have a wear rating on them the lower the number the softer the tyre most of the racing rubber is 80 or less and most normal road rubber is over 200 so pick a number at which a tyre becomes a racing tyre say below 150 as an example.
I was thinking about putting my cobra in street class as it now is not turboed and runs on std road rubber no roll cage and a very stock 4.0 ltr engine. so is it a street cobra now or is it a race class car it has brakes which are standard on the harrison kits and the suspension is to there specs too. this is my questions for you all to ponder I await your responces.
